The Ayrshire Loft at Cloncaird Castle

Nestled in a secluded glen surrounded by mountains and forest, comfortable family holiday accommodation in a detached cottage. Close to the Galloway Forest park, an excellent base for walking, mountain biking and star gazing due to the dark skies. The famous Southern Upland Way walking route is accessible on foot from the cottage along with other beautiful hill walking, including some impressive peaks with breathtaking views. Streams and pools nearby for paddling and wild swimming adventures.

Nestled on Main Street in the picturesque village of Straiton they are just a stones throw from the local amenities. Sorry strictly no pets.

This characterful cottage has a homely feel with spacious rooms. Being on the main street the property is ideally situated for the village community shop, The Buck (coffee shop), The Black Bull (pub), church, playpark and local bus-stop. The cottage has recently undergone refurbishment and decoration.

Close by is Culzean Castle, the beautiful Ayrshire coast, Robert Burns Museum, the Dark Sky Park, Galloway Forest Park and Ayr Racecourse. There are also some world-class golf courses. Kirkmichael has an excellent pub, café, shop and bowling green.

Dining room, 2 sitting rooms. Two bedrooms have own en-suite shower room and there is a bathroom with bath beside the third bedroom. Private deck with large hot-tub and seating and BBQ area. Shared games room and tennis court with one other cottage. Ample parking - off road.

Dunlop is only 1/2 hour drive to some of Ayrshires top golf courses. The train takes less than 30 mins to Glasgow city centre. The village has a community pub, a community cafe(open Thursdays and Fridays for morning coffee and lunch. A newsagent, post office/ shop and an Artisan Bakery ( openThursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.) A new craft shop has also recently opened next door to our home. The nearest supermarket is 10 mins. drive away.

Fairy Cottage is a self contained, fully equipped detached cottage, set in private grounds with private parking. Private patio area with garden furniture. Quiet and peaceful on a summer's evening. High Chair and travel cot available on request. Additional day guests only permitted with prior permission and an extra charge may be incurred. Our cottage has a capacity of a maximum of four people sharing two beds.
