Hiking paths like Glymur waterfall are nearby, Hvammsvík spa is 5 minutes away, and Thingvellir National Park is only a 30-minute drive. In winter, the northern lights often light up the sky, making this a magical place to stay. The hut is only accessible by car, as there is no public transport.

The cottage is located near Reykjavi­k, about 30-40 minute drive from Reykjavik. It is ideally situated amongst Iceland's most popular attractions. Many of the attractions are within 1 one-hour drive from the cottage, e.g. the Þingvellir National Park, which is on the way to Gullfoss and Geysir. Hot tub available upon request for €15 per day.

The views are spectacular, of the lake and its surrounding mountain scape; it is a place of pure tranquility. It has 3 bedrooms and an open plan kitchen and sitting room. It has a large double bedroom, and small double bedroom and a room with a bunk bed. It is well known and often listed as one of the most scenic and lovely summer cottages in Iceland.

A lakeside cabin at the foot of Medalfell mountain with direct access to the lake. A peaceful place with a beautiful lakeview where you can relax to the gentle sounds of the water. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis).
