The cabin is a destination all on its own. Fish from the pier or banks on the privately managed eight-acre lake. There is a john boat which is quite old, uses paddles, and is in fair shape (feel free to bring your canoe or john boat.). A paddleboat and paddleboard are available for guest use and swimming. Enjoy walking the property and visit the onsite hoop house and orchard for free seasonal fruits and vegetables. Have fun by the outside fire pit roasting marshmallows with friends and family!

Enjoy complimentary wi-fi and access to our free community garden. Plan self-guided art tours, or schedule a campus tour/gallery appointment. Located two blocks from an active train crossing.

The home offers all the amenities you may need. The ancestral home underwent a complete renovation in 2016 and is owned by owned and occupied by 8 generations of the Lake family. *Events bookings are not permitted via this platform. We do host weddings and other events but those must be booked directly.*

The studio is located a mile from Newbern, along a main hwy 10 miles south of Greensboro, 20 east of Demopolis and 50 miles south of Tuscaloosa. The studio has brick floors and the interior wood walls and beams are from reclaimed barn wood. We want our guests to relax with a good cup of coffee, a great night's sleep and time to enjoy an Alabama sunset from the front porch chairs!
