This historic property was built in 1925 by Tuskegee Institute using student labor bricks and materials made by Tuskegee Normal and Industrial College students for the Dean of Men at the time, Dr. AJ Neely the mentor of Ralph Ellison and Iceberg Slim. Neely is one of the few historic institutional figures honored with his burial at the Campus cemetery, where Booker T and Carver are also interned. The house has 2 grand porches that allow residents to enjoy the beautiful surroundings while being conveniently located in the in walking distance to the Tuskegee University campus and facilities, the national parks and athletic facilities on campus. Beautiful brick home in a well established neighborhood. Very safe and well lite. The basement is some 1,350 square ft .Two full bedrooms, one with a King bed and the other with a Queen bed. Sofa makes into a bed if you need it and air mattress is available. Has a stackable washer/dryer. It is only 30 minutes from Montgomery and 25 minutes from Auburn. Lake Martin is just 15 minutes away. Tallassee is a quaint little town with a lot of history.
