The nearest amenities are 2miles in Evanton or 5miles to the ancient Burgh of Dingwall. Foulis Castle is a 15 min walk away from the Storehouse Restaurant & Farm shop, which is situated on the shore/beach of the Cromarty Firth (Mon-Sat 9-5pm). My place is good for NC500 travellers, couples, and business travellers.

Cottage by the Pier - Highland seashore haven

Unwind in this lovely stone-built salmon fishing bothy, close to the NC500, Nigg and the Orkney Ferry route, insulated to the modern spec, with traditional stone and vaulted ceilings. Close to Balintore harbour and Shandwick Bay, the restored airy cottage benefits from a sheltered yard, from which you can base your North Highland explorations, go for lovely coastal walks and interact with the locals. 2 minutes from the local shop, the garden area feels peaceful and secluded.

Completely renovated 2023. Set within the beautiful Easter Ross peninsula the cottage has open views to the country. Lovely walks from the doorstep, 5 minute drive to Portmahomack or the seaboard villages of Hilton, Balintore and Shandwick. All boasting beautiful beaches. A perfect base for exploring the north and west coast of Scotland. Great place to view the northern lights. Well behaved dogs are welcome and must be kept on leads near livestock.
