The Old Merchant House, Portsoy Harbour

“The Old Merchant House” is a stunning, iconic, grade A listed property sitting immediately on the harbour front in Portsoy and is located on the Moray Firth coastal footpath and National Cycle Route 1. The property has a date stone of 1726 and was originally the home of Alexander (Laird) Brebner, a famous merchant and renowned smuggler. Crovie Cottage, Crovie , Aberdeenshire

The cottage looks like a traditional fisherman's cottage, painted white with red shutters and a red door, but walk through the heavy wooden door and you enter a modern, white interior full of light and surprisingly spacious. The cottage sits right on the margin of the North Sea with only a sea wall and its Bankhead above the stoney beach. The space is open plan as are the sleeping spaces upstairs . It's a peaceful comfortable place to be .

Old schoolhouse in the countryside

Cosy, homely, private cottage in the beautiful Aberdeenshire countryside. Light the log burner and sit back to relax. The old schoolhouse (built in 1866) has loads of character and feels remote and quiet despite being well situated just off the main Banff/Huntly road. Banff is about 5 minutes drive. The garden is large and you have full run of the whole premises during your stay. There are some lovely walks from the house.
