The Old Stables

The old Stables is half of a newly converted cottage finished to a high standard situated within a 14 ac plot. There are two double bedrooms one with an en-suite bathroom and a separate shower wet room. The master bedroom has a king sized bed , the second bedroom a full double.Bed linen is 100% cotton with feather duvets. Synthetic available on request. The Old Reading Room West Stafford, Dorset.

The Victorian Reading Room of West Stafford is of historical importance. Used before the war as a Reading Room for the villagers and estate workers, the newspapers were provided, the village shop in the late 1930s, then a workshop and a store room for the church. The Purbeck stone building in the southern outskirts of the town is separate from the main house, has it's own entrance and off-road parking. A five minute walk brings you to the Durlston National Nature Reserve looking out over the Jurassic coast. Durlston Castle, the Lighthouse and the Southwest Coast Path are 15 minutes away on foot. All without crossing a road.

We fully renovated this cosy, two bedroom cottage to create a warm, welcoming space where the only sounds you’ll hear are the tweeting of birds and crackle of the newly fitted wood burning stove. The cottage has a king, a twin room and a sofa bed in the lounge so is flexible with accommodating various set ups. The location is just about as good as it gets. It’s a 10 min walk along the stunning River Frome into Wareham and a stone’s throw from all major tourist attractions on the Purbecks.
