A self-contained annexe apartment with off-road parking; on the edge of Maidstone, within easy reach of the town and all transport links (including Eurotunnel and Eurostar), but also adjacent to a nature reserve and the beautiful Kent countryside.
The ground floor apartment has its own entrance and is completely self-contained, except for the laundry facilities which are shared with the main house (in the utility corridor which connects it to the annexe). There is free parking for guests on the driveway of the house.
The large bedroom has a king-sized bed, which can also be made up as two singles if required (please let us know when booking). The bedroom has plenty of wardrobe space, and a hairdryer is provided. There are also two fold-away single beds available for parties of three or four people, which can be put up in the bedroom or sitting room as preferred (or one in each); we can also provide a travel cot for infants. The en suite bathroom and toilet features a 'wet room' shower.
The sitting room opens on to the garden via French windows, and is a suntrap in good weather (an awning outside the windows can be used to shield the room from the sunlight if it gets too bright!). Furnishings include cane 3-seater and 2-seater sofas, and a cane dining table and chairs. The room also contains a modern kitchenette, well-equipped with a fridge (including freezer compartment), electric hob, combi microwave / convection oven, toaster, and a good collection of utensils. Guests will find a welcome pack on arrival including tea, coffee, milk and bread.
The sitting room has a flat-screen TV, with all free-to-air channels plus Sky (including all movie and sports channels) and a DVD player. There's also a sound system with DAB radio and CD player, as well as an iPod docking station and auxiliary inputs. A large selection of CDs and DVDs is available for guests to choose from. Fast WiFi internet access is also provided.
Guests can relax in the private and secluded garden; a gas BBQ is available should you fancy a spot of al fresco cooking. The garden also features a large spa hot tub, which guests are welcome to use between noon and 10 pm - if you think you'd like to, please let us know at least 48 hours before your arrival, as the water isn't always kept heated when not in use and it takes a while to heat up! Please note that all guests who will use the hot tub must first be shown how to operate the the hydraulic cover lifter and the controls.
If you arrive in the evening or at the weekend, one or both of us will normally be around to meet and greet you. If your arrival is outside these times we'll leave the keys in a suitable spot and provide instructions on where to find everything. We're usually around in the main house in the evenings and at weekends, and are always available if any advice on the area or other help is needed, but otherwise we won't intrude on your privacy.

We have 2 cats, so unfortunately we're not able to accept pets. If you are allergic to cats (or just don't like them!), let us know and we'll ensure they have no access to the annexe.
Children, however, are more than welcome!
The apartment, like the house, is non-smoking - however ashtrays are provided in the seating areas of the garden.
The road is in a quiet residential area, so we ask that guests are considerate to our neighbours (and us!) by keeping the noise down late at night.
Please look after the apartment and try to leave it as you found it.
Rod and Debbie met at Kent University, and now work together in a small family firm near Tunbridge Wells.
We've always loved travelling and meeting new people, and have always preferred to stay in apartments and houses rather than hotels wherever possible when doing so.
Once our children had flown the nest, we decided we should use some of the space we now had available to welcome other travellers to this beautiful area.
