Fishing

White Lake & Shuswap Lake are popular fishing destinations. White Lake is supplied with both stocked and natural spawning Rainbow Trout. It is crystal clear so when the sun is shining in the right spot you can actually watch the fish go for your bait! Fly fishing with chronomids has the most success. Shuswap Lake is where you’ll find your trophy fish. There are large trout and a really amazing (but not well known) Carp fishery. For more fishing info you can ask Shaun or talk to the friendly staff at Westside Fishing Store in Salmon Arm

Lake Access

-White Lake: White Lake water is pristine and warmer than Shuswap however access from the shore is very limited. Most swimmers will either walk down the hill at Hugh Road Community Park which has a swim area and floating platform or drive past the White Lake Provincial Campground and just park along the road and swim/float there. Both access points are on Parri Road. There is a boat launch located at White Lake Provincial Campground and another at White Lake Community Park across from the White Lake Hall. -Shuswap Lake: The three main beaches are Blind Bay, Sunnybrae, Herald Park and Canoe. Sunnybrae and Blind Bay are nearby and offer a combination of grassy areas and pebble beaches. Herald Park is 8 minutes past Sunnybrae and has a nicer beach day use area. Canoe beach is the nicest sandy beach but is located 35 minutes away on the other side of Salmon Arm. Boat launches are numerous but the closest one is in Blind Bay.
