We love this spot! Every Friday there's a farmer's market, with brick oven pizza and music. There's also a great little thrift store upstairs.

Nestled in the mountains of southern Vermont, Grafton is one of New England’s prettiest villages. Many of its beautiful and historic buildings have been restored by its residents and the Windham Foundation, so today’s town looks much as it did years ago. Grafton’s uniqueness comes from being a real village – not a museum recreation – with its citizens being its most valuable resource. It is a vibrant community, still holding the traditional Town Meeting with participation from a wonderfully diverse population of 600 people. Visit shops, galleries and museums.

Swimming

A beautiful covered bridge and swimming hole!
Scott Covered Bridge
3049 State Forest Rd
A beautiful covered bridge and swimming hole!
Cobb Brook cascades 125 feet down a mountain slope, through a pine-hemlock woodland and into a series of large potholes. There are several falls, the most spectacular of which drops 40 to 50 feet into a large pool. Hamilton Falls is unique, dramatic, and dangerous. Do not take chances on the steep and slippery rocks. Hamilton Falls is a very popular swimming and picnicking area located within the natural area along Cobb Brook. Be careful, several people have lost their lives swimming here. The Hamilton Falls Trail provides access to the top and bottom of the falls and connects to the West River Trail within Jamaica State Park.

Swimming holes

Taking a dip in Vermont’s rivers, brooks, and reservoirs is about as refreshing as that fresh mountain air. Drive along any river or stream and look for cars parked on the side of the road — it’s a surefire way to know you’ve come across a stellar swimming area.
