If you’ve never had Montreal-style bagels you’re in for a treat. This place bakes in a wood-fired oven. Lunch counter does sandwiches midday. 20 minute walk down Pine Street. Also check out the Barge Canal down the gravel driveway. It's a sweet, secret view on the water where in the winter you'll find the best wild ice for skating, and in the summer birds raising chicks.

We have had a connection to the ECHO Leahy Center for 20 years. Burlington's science center has national traveling exhibits, lots of cool stuff about Lake Champlain and a wonderful connection to the cultures that have called this area home. Check the donor list by the front door for the youngest donor. That's our daughter! On the waterfront. About 1.5 miles. A great walk or ride down the bike path.

This is a really well-presented antique shop specializing in mid-century furniture. But you'll also find knick-knacks, art, clothing, housewares, etc. New in late 2019: t-shirts and bags featuring the women-version of Mt Rushmore by artist-in-residence Julianna Brazill. Also check out the eponymous Barge Canal down the gravel driveway. Not quite on Pine Street, but worth the extra 10 minute walk. Craft brews and tours! Also, you get a little industrial vibe, but the neighborhood is actually more artsy than mechanical. Watch the sunset at Oakledge park, at the end of Flynn Ave, and then settle in at Switchback for an evening of beer tasting.
