Equipment Rental

This is a great place to rent hiking gear for the Narrows. At minimum you will want a hiking stick for balance. The hiking boots are helpful to keep your feet dry and minimize slipping on the river rocks.

Check out the Zion National Park Facebook page.

This is where the park rangers put all up-to-date park information. There are several pages out there so don't be fooled. The handle for the official page is @zionnps or facebook.com/zionnps

There are two shuttles systems for Zion.

There is a shuttle system that operates inside the park and picks up at the visitor's center. The national park shuttle has 7 stops and takes you down the scenic drive to access many of the trail heads. This is not to be confused with the city of Springdale's bus system which takes you from local parking lots and accommodations to Zion's visitor's center where you hop on the next shuttle.

Bring a Backpack

Reusable water bottle or water bladder - there are water fountains through the park. We like a 2 liter bladder for convenience. Pack electrolytes to replace what you lose while hiking. The area is very dry climate and you will lose fluids throughout the day. A small first aid kit including band aids, ointment and something for insect bites. A high protein/fat snack to keep you going. I like a protein bar or packet of almond butter for quick fuel. I like baby wipes in my back pack for cleaning my hands. Don't forget a baggie or grocery back to put trash in.
