This is a nice place to visit for great selfies, restaurants, shops, boating excursions and live entertainment. The view to the water and the port of miami are unique. This location has been around for a long time and locals view it as one of the first places to visit to have a touristic experience.

You will have the chance to experience cigar making, cuban rum, cortaditos (coffee) and pastelitos (pastry, salsa music and so much more. I recommend you walk up and down 8th street on both sides and spend approximately 2-4 hours enjoying this vibrant location.

One of my favorite spots for their "Carne Asada Especial". I am bit biased since I myself am from Honduras, so of course I will love this. Baleadas, Sopa Marinera, Tacos de Pollo are some of my favorites!

The heat here can be unrelenting during most of the year, so feeling cool will be very important. For those that are not used to the heat, sunblock will be important as well as keeping hydrated. Miami does not take itself to seriously so sandals , crocs or open toe shoes are very much in display throughout the year.

Letting the locals know you are a tourist will likely help you enjoy the city more. There's a very strong Spanish speaking influence in the city and many will speak only Spanish, depending on where you visit. Saying you're a tourist can make things easier for you and will make us locals quickly change back to speaking English or finding someone who does.
