World famous bakery, still very much family fun. Great traditional tea shop upstairs. Sandwiches made to order - very reasonable. They also have an outlet on Baxtergate, Whitby if you don't need the full old-fashioned café experience

X93 bus Whitby to Scarborough via Robin Hood's Bay. Buy a return ticket - it's much cheaper. Buses every 1/2-hour or better in Summer, every hour in Winter. About 15 minutes to Whitby, 40 minutes to Scarborough
