Salmon Arm’s wooden wharf is the largest of its kind in North America. The giant pier curves out onto the water connecting to some great marine views, picnic tables, rentals and a marina. Great place to take a walk and enjoy an ice cream cone. Sea-Dog Rentals are located at the end of the wharf. They offer Boat and Sea-Doo rentals, water toys and marine fuel. Salmon Arm's wooden wharf is located in the waterfront Marine Peace Park. The park offers a dock system, a public boat launch, large grassy lawns with picnic tables, washrooms, sightseeing benches, access to hiking trails and nearby harbor front restaurants.

The Grass Root Dairies farm and cheese store is located just minutes outside Salmon Arm. Great place to get a tour on the farm and learn how cheese is made. Enjoy great tasting cheese. Open to the public Monday through Saturday 10am - 3pm.

Canoe Beach is located on the shores of Shuswap Lake in the town of Canoe, 7 minutes west of Salmon Arm. This beach is the only public beach in the immediate Salmon Arm region and great for summer enthusiasts who enjoy swimming, canoeing, kayaking, boating, beachcombing, sea-doing, and water-skiing. The sandy beach includes many of the amenities popular for beach goers. There is a boat launch, picnic tables, playground, large grass areas, volleyball court, washrooms, concession stand, and covered shelter which are great for kid’s birthday parties or small events. There is lots of parking and overflow parking available as well. Canoe Beach has a small area to the far right of the public beach area designated as dog friendly.

Swimming, fishing and bird-watching are popular activities, as is the self-guided nature walk to Margaret Falls. Just 14 kilometers from the Trans Canada Highway along the western shore of the Salmon Arm of Shuswap Lake, Herald is a great spot to use as a base camp for visiting the many attractions of the Shuswap area.

There are many different locations within the Heritage Village which include the M.T Ida Church, Blacksmith Shop, Filling station, Fire Hall, Broadview School, Cooks House, the Salmon Valley Homestead, McGuire General Merchant, Miss Puff Dressmaker and much more. Guests can also walk the property’s 2.3-kilometre woodland trail, using a trail guide to identify plants around them. The Sprig of Heather restaurant offers outdoor patio seating with views of the village, a daily special, house-baked bread and fresh fillings served with a choice of homemade signature soups, garden salad with homemade dressings and more.

The park features 10 slides, an extra-large hot tub, gift shop, kids zone, concession and an ice-cream parlor all overlooking the extraordinary view of Swan Lake in the Okanagan. This water park is well maintained and includes a spacious picnic area with picnic tables and umbrellas. You can bring your own food and drinks if you wish to. It’s a great place for families to spend time and relax. Book tickets online in advance.
