We love Commissary for a quick morning eat. They have yummy coffee and pastries. We normally order their biscuit breakfast sandwich and a granola + yogurt. You can also order online and pickup if you don't feel like sitting at a table outside.

For ramen, we often head here (now named Kinboshi). Weekends can be busy, so to avoid the line go at off times. This location is also attached to Nong's Khao Man Gai which is another local favorite. You can't go wrong with either spot.

Sparrow is in the lovely St. John's neighborhood. They are known for their Ocean roll which is like a morning bun pastry with a citrus twist. We also like croissant sandwich. Be aware that on weekends, there tends to be a line.

St. Johns is just past the University of Portland to the west. Check out the beautiful St. John's bridge from Cathedral park and then walk, bike, or drive over it. If you're up for it, head into Forest Park for a quick hike in Forest Park.

Looking for a day trip and a beautiful drive? Look no further than a trip to Hood River. This 1-hour drive on I-84 East takes you through the Gorge. Once there, head down to the Waterfront Park and then grab a bite and brew at Full Sail brewery.

Use the Max to get to Moda Center
The Max (above-ground subway train) yellow line starts just ~0.5 miles east on Killingsworth. This will take you directly to Moda center or to shopping downtown. Transfer to the red line if you need to get to the airport.
