This is my go-to beach place in the area. It's not in the Hamptons, but it's far east of all the well-known Nassau County Long Island beaches, so it is less crowded without Hampton prices. Daily parking is $18/day between 8:30am - 5pm; free after 5pm. At night they often have live bands with lots of townies getting their dance on.

The famous Fire Island is a unique feature of Long Island - you can't even get to these beaches by car, so there are no cars on this long string of islands. I've never been but it seems amazing!

State park that's a great place for talking long walks, and horseback riding and hot air ballooning if you go the right time of year.

This is a combination wooded park with lots of naturey things to check out, and a beach. You can go hiking or go on the boardwalk. It's one of the main places to check out on the north end of the island, along Long Island Sound.

This is just a take-out restaurant for if you want something quick to eat at home. It has both Chinese & Japanese food, and surprisingly for a quick-serve place, their sushi is amazing and fresh.
