There is a nice trail around a large pond where you can see cranes and turtles. You don't have to cross any streets to get there! A few blocks further away is a larger park (Sugarbush) with more open grassy areas. The nearby school has tennis courts, too.

Sightseeing

When it opened in 1913, Hill Auditorium was hailed as a 'monument to perfect acoustics.' The excellent acoustics, a result of collaboration by architect Albert Kahn with noted acoustical engineer Hugh Tallant, are known world-wide and have made the auditorium a favorite venue for legions of famous musicians and other artists, as well as numerous noted speakers. The iconic Burton Tower, one of the University's key landmarks, houses the Charles Baird Carillon. It's the third heaviest in the world, contains 53 bells cast in 1936 by the John Taylor & Co. Bellfoundry in Loughborough, England. The largest bell, which strikes the hour, weighs 12 tons, and the smallest bell, 4 1/2 octaves higher, weighs 15 pounds. In 2011, the carillon underwent a complete restoration, returning the original highest two octaves of bells and the original clavier. Thirty-minute recitals are performed on the Charles Baird Carillon at noon every weekday that classes are in session.
