Iconic italian restaurant in the heart of Old Town. Get a table by the window for a romantic meal or sit at the bar for a lively conversation with the same barkeep who's been there for years. The chicken parm and Tiramisu are excellent! The restaurant has a nice romantic white-tablecloth feel to it, but the walls are full of historical baseball memorabilia from the multi-generational history of this spot. We usually just walk in, but during the popular tourist season (Nov-March), I recommend making a reservation on the weekend.

AZ/88 is very popular on the weekends, and doesn't take reservations, so go a little before dinner time and grab one of their signature martinis while you wait. Live music 7 days a week, a trip to Scottsdale just isn't complete without grabbing a beer in this unique spot. It's small, though, so go early to get the full experience. Late at night is a fun scene too, but gets very crowded on the weekend! We never let a guest leave town without taking them here at least once.

If you're looking for a great workout, hit the trails on Camelback Mountain. There are two challenging hiking trails that go all the way to the top, and provide amazing views of the Valley of the Sun along the way. It's a pretty serious workout, though, so where comfortable clothes, solid tennis shoes or hiking shoes, and bring a big bottle of water! Echo Canyon Trail is steeper but not quite as long, while the Cholla trail is not as steep but takes a little longer. Both are pretty rugged, but well marked. It's a popular attraction, so it can be a little crowded mid-morning on the weekends. Plan on 2-3 hours if you go all the way to the summit. Trails are open until sunset.
