Parks & Nature
Texas summers are hot to say the least! When the heat hits, Austinites flock to Barton Springs Pool to cool off and chill out.
You can spend an entire day at Barton Springs pool. The entrance fee is $3, and you can stamp your hand for re-entry if you need to head out to hit one of the many restaurants located on Barton Springs Road. (Except for plastic water bottles, you can't bring food or drinks into the springs.)
Barton Springs Pool is open Fri-Weds, 5am-10pm; Thursdays, 5am-9am & 7pm-10pm.

On a nice, day the expansive lawn area surrounding the capital complex is perfect for lounging beneath the trees or rolling down the grassy slopes. Free Tours are available daily:

Each night around dusk the bats start their evening flight. It normally starts with a single bat leaving the bridge and quickly turns into a steady flow of countless bats in search of food. It’s one of those things that is truly unexplainable until you see it first hand.

You can also rent them privately which make for great birthdays or corporate events.
