It´s free to go swimming in the Oslo fjord and at Huk you find a beach, kiosks with ice cream and a restaurant and public toilets and area to e.g. play with a ball and have fun.

This place is a very charming, large log building with wonderful Norwegian food. The view of Oslo and the Oslo fjord is great from up here in Holmenkollen. It houses both a restaurant and a more café like area.

This area has a lot of cute, tiny cottages in different colors, and each has a small garden. In the winter I have seen wild deer walk around here. In summer they have cafe(s) here each Sunday.

I really recoment to spend at least one day at Bygdøy where you find several museums. Oslo´s larges bathing area, called Huk, is also here.

A spectacular park with lots of statues. Absolutely worth a visit. And if you bring kids, make sure you visit the playground area, right to the left of the main entrance.

Also a fun museum, even for kids, showing the exiting journeys of the famous explorer Thor Heyerdahl. He built rafts and travelled with friends over large oceans to prove historic findings.
