My personal go-to in the neighbourhood for cheap, cheerful, tasty, fast Chinese diner style food, as they stay open late.

If you need to get pizza by the slice or delivery to the house, Pizza Garden is the sweet spot of a boutique pizza shop that got so popular with all of us they opened up a few more stores. Mmmmmmmm!

Oh yes! Fusion Chinese food adapted for a Canadianized middle class crowd. Make a reservation.

Not ranked #1 restaurant in Vancouver everywhere for nothing. Wait is always an hour long during peak times, but if you have a group going (8+), call in to reserve a table. Then, order everything - and 4 of the beef luc lac.

Drinks & Nightlife

You can't get their cider anywhere else, and their cider is like no other. Big with the Hootsuite and creative crowds.

Less well known than 33 Acres, but I prefer their selection of beer (small, but thoughtful). Owners also opened up Oddity Kombucha across the street, which serves kombucha on tap.

This is one of Vancouver's most popular 'above ground' artist-run spaces. They used to be very close to the house, but have since moved to Chinatown.

Parks & Nature

By far the most inaccessible beach of them all, but so worth it. Clean waters, chill vibes, clothing-optional. There are tons of food and drink vendors down at the beach, and listen out for the roaming hawkers ;)

Worth a stroll through if you're in the area. Many people from nearby offices come here on their lunch breaks for a moment of tranquility during the work day. Free to enter.

Essentials

The mall stuck in the '70s. No one understands how they keep affording the rent in this hood. But there's a Buy Low for groceries, a liquor store, convenience store, Shopper's, dentist, and a little stand in the middle that is the only place I've ever seen sell sugar cane juice in Vancouver. Nostalgic!
