An easy trail to see the Giant's Stairs. These massive rock formations look like stairs. The views here are amazing! Keep walking past the Giant's Stairs. After you pass the trail to Machintosh Lot Preserve, you will see the markers to bring you onto the rocks. This is a more challenging section. If you are up for the challenge, follow the markers to the end point to see some more awesome views. Respect private property and return back to the Machintosh Lot Preserve trail. Return the same way you came in or follow the Machintosh Lot Preserve trail to the street and take a right to get back to the parking at the church.

A great hike hike through the woods on a moderately challenging trail. Lot's of places to climb on the rocks and play in the water. The trail area has several loops so you can take a quick hike or a longer one. The parking lot is on Route 24 (Harpswell Island Road) near the bridge to Great Island at the top of the hill.

Excellent trail system throughout this nature preserve area. Random science experiments, herds of deer, purple mushrooms, log bridges, and water access make this trail a must do.

Featuring views from atop 300 foot cliffs, this is one of the more challenging trails in Harpswell. Take Route 24 north to Great Island and then take a left onto the Mountain Road. Follow the road down the hill and turn right into the parking lot for Town Hall. Go to the left of the building and park in the back left corner of the lot. The trail head is there. Give yourself a couple of hours before sunset to ensure you'll have enough time to get out of the woods before it becomes dark.

Catch some great sunsets from the bridge. There are a couple of parking spaces on the west side of the bridge near the dock. Be careful when driving across the bridge and drive slow. The bridge can be slippery and there are often fisherman working on the docks with their trucks. Space is limited so if there are a couple other vehicles there, then you will need to visit this spot later.
