Sagunto Castle (Spanish: Castillo de Sagunto; Valencian: Castell de Sagunt) is a fortress overlooking the town of Sagunto, near Valencia in Spain. The site's history extends back over two thousand years and includes Iberian, Roman and medieval remains. During the Islamic period, the castle was known as Murbĩtar and Morvedre. The castle was declared a National Monument in 1931.

You can walk here from the Chalet, and its an interesting view of a modern structure that has a valid purpose to help preserve the water for the town of Algar. There are lots of tables to have a picnic and when it has rained and the river has water it is a spectacular sight.

A beautiful place to spend a day, take a swim, have a walk. There is a little cafe and water that is 25 degrees all year round. Drive through the mountains to get here, and the views will not disappoint.

A local bar that is perfect for a morning coffee, a light lunch or a dinner at the weekend. Not open everyday, but this bar is 5 minutes from the house by car, has a car park and if you want to get a quick bite to eat it can be very useful!
