Maison Miramon is surrounded by leafy, winding country lanes perfect for cycling, strolling and running with the Pyrenees as a beautiful backdrop. A five minute drive away lies the picture perfect village of Lucq-de-Bearn with a cafe/restaurant and stunning cathedral. Artisanal food markets rotate daily around nearby towns, including medieval Oloron-Sainte-Marie and Sauveterre-de-Bearn, as well as the fortified town of Navarrenx. Enjoy traditional French food in bistros or Michelin star restaurants, local cheeses and meat produce from the valleys, chocolate shops, the Espelette chilli pepper harvest, as well as the wines of Jurancon at nearby vineyards. Follow the pilgrims on the route to Santiago de Compostela via the French Basque country and the red and white towns of Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port or the coastal Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Hire cars are available from your arrival airport (Pau, Biarritz, Toulouse, Bordeaux, Tarbes-Lourdes).
The towns of Navarrenx and Oloron-Sainte-Marie are a 15 minute drive away. The closest airports are Pau (40 minutes), Lourdes (1 hour), Biarritz (1 hour 20 minutes) , Toulouse and Bordeaux (2 hours 15 minutes). Trains and buses run from Oloron-Sainte-Marie to various locations.
The closest ski stations are La Pierre Saint Martin (1 hour) , Artouste and Candanchu (1 hour 20 minutes).
