Old Observatory, art gallery, cafe and various monuments. You can go up the Nelson Monument (£2?) Great spot ro watch sunrise and sunset (though can now get very busy at sunset! )

Walk to the top of this extinct volcanoe for amazing views. Takes about one hour from the flat to get to the top, longer with kids. It's quite a steep hike in places. Highly recommened but it can get very busy, especially during good weather, so best to go early as possible.

Slowly being gentrified there's a ton of reasonably priced eating and drinking opportunities to suit all tastes, traditional and hipster pubs, a few independent shops, an asian supermarket and a mediterranean supermarket
