Just outside of Anacortes on Fidalgo island is Mt Erie at just 1200 feet high.
Drive to the top for almost 360° views of the area. Depending on the day of your visit you may meet climbers coming and going on the south side or hang gliders launching and flying down to Campbell lake area.

From old town Anacortes take a right on 4th street from Commercial and follow the road to the top of Cape Santa for a view of Anacortes. This is also another great place to watch sunsets, plus it's right in town.
In 2020, June 6th and 7th is the Anacortes Waterfront Festival at Cape Sante Marina.
There are craft vendors, live music, food and of course boat stuff.
Kiddos can build small boats with supplies materials. Teams of adult children build questionable boats that they then race on the last day of the event. If it stays afloat and makes it across the finish line you win!
