Must Visit

Mirador Escénico, San Carlos, Mexico This scenic lookout, four miles from San Carlos, gives a peerless view over the Gulf of California, dramatic Tetakawi—a volcanic hill jutting out of the sea—and the secluded coves of Playa Piedras Pintas. Mirador is also a world-class vantage point for spotting wildlife, including dolphins, pelicans, and whales. Planning: A good way to explore the Gulf of California (Sea of Cortez) is to rent a kayak or fishing boat in San Carlos. The best sailing and fishing weather occurs from November through May.

The best little beach bar in town! Since 2003, the Soggy Peso Bar, also known as the Hang Out, and simply, “the Peso”, has welcomed residents and visitors alike to San Carlos. Located on the beautiful soft white sands of Algodones beach, there’s no better place to just ‘hang out’.

New and hip

The craft beer revolution finally comes to San Carlos, as the only LOCALLY BREWED craft beer debuts at Marvida Taproom & Kitchen. This is REAL craft beer from kegs (not bottles), and the difference is right there, on your palate. We’ve got all your favorites: IPAs, Stouts, Hefeweizen, Blonde Ales, and more. Ah, they also serve food.
