Get to the top pf the steps and see a view all over Sheringham! The trick is to do a panarama pick - stand one side then leg it over to the other side for the end of the shot. Silly but fun!

A rainy day or escape from the sun must
The top floor has an interactive wind machine which is a firm favourite with the children, the museum is really interesting and the people in the shop are about as nice as you could get. Its brill, and you might recognise a few of the pictures in the snug from the shop there...

All aboard for Cromer and Holt!
you cant come to Sheringham and not go on the train. Its just divine and the older kids love the independence of a solo train trip to the seaside.
I love it because it takes me to Holt and Holt has lovely shops.

Sightseeing
Just magical. the whole family can crab on the Quay, there's a shop that sells buckets and nets just before the carpark, and clothes! the Blakeney Hotel does a lovely coffee as do the independent coffee shops. the cafe on the left of the hill infant of the car park (sorry I don't know its name) does a mean crab sandwich, and the food vans in the carpark are sizzling bacon and making coffee all day. Its a NT carpark so members get free parking, in the summer the village hall often has a second hand sale, I got a lovely egg bowl and salad plate in the summer for £3! As for the seals, ahhhh - such beautiful animals and a privilege to see them in their natural habitat. There is a good dog walk just off the carpark when dogs can go off leads.

Cromer isn't just the pier - although of course that is what its famous for. But go behind the sea front and you'll see a whole lot more to this lovely little town. Well worth a morning or afternoons wander around. They also do very nice fresh donuts!

Tea with the Queen
After Britannia in Edinburgh this is my favourite of the Royal Residences. Its a home, obviously full of many beautiful things but I always feel a sense of calm here and admiration for, in my opinion, our wonderful Monarch and her family. And if that bores you, the gardens are worth the trip on their own. Watch out for the greedy ducks who will come and peck at your feet for a treat - just gorgeous!

Tell them all to get lost - literally!
Never have we laughed so much as when the children got stuck in the maze! It's hours of fun and there's a good cafe and children play area too - a total winner and within walking distance from Number 9.

Oh I do like to be beside the seaside. All the beaches in Sheringham are pebbly but if you turn RIGHT by the Submarine Cafe right at the end of Beeston Road you'll find much more sand there - enough for family cricket! its also a good fishing spot there although Poppa is yet to catch any...
