As of January 2011, it is home to 1258 animals of 164 species and includes an extensive botanical collection. It's a great place to visit, pretty surroundings and plenty of shady places to sit and picnic or rest in between seeing the animals. The Orangutan area is state of the art and the Perth Zoo breeding program world class.
