Museums and historic places
You have to visit the church of Åstrup, not far from here. It is famous for its vivid chalk paintings from the medieval (catholic) times, restored by the Danish National Museum few years ago. The church itself has a magnificent view of the landscape. The church is pink as many of the churches you find in this area of Denmark.

Walking trail along the coast to Hesnæs or a shorter circuit to the boarding school Næsgård on the top of the hills, just where Gl. Færgevej starts. The circuit takes about an hour. To Hesnæs you need 1,5 hours to get there. A public bus passes Hesnæs and Næstgaard if you need a ride home.
Beautiful bay sourrounded by the woods. The beach is sandy and children friendly. The old fisherman´s houses in the village are well kept with thatched roof and cottage gardens.

The the trail to the right beneath the woods and go uphill to Næsgård boardingschool, a stately bouilding from the 18th century. Return by Gl. Færgevej to our house. Takes around an hour.
