This new trailhead connects some old trails with some new trails, and it's literally just around the corner (30 seconds up the road). 20 minutes in gets you to a great overlooking view of the mighty Talkeetna River and a stunning view of Denali (on a clear day).

It's just down the road (1 minute drive) and there's 5 beautiful lakes and over 3 miles of trails. Bring a swimsuit, a bike, running shoes, or just have a nice walk around the Lakes. If it's winter, ski here!! You'll be better for it.

Talkeetna Lakes Trailhead

It's one of the best activities in the area, getting outside and paddling around Byers Lake, seeing a swan family, possibly a bear or 2. Can't recommend highly enough.
