The float home itself is essentially on the Spirit Trail, and you can walk or bike it all along the waterfront, even over to Park Royal and West Vancouver.

The suspension bridge at Lynn Canyon is just a smaller versions of the Capilano one, but it is free, and has great trails. I'm also partial as I grew up about a 5 minute walk to the park!

Deep Cove is a great little village on the far east side of North Van, only about a 15 minute drive. You can park and enjoy Honey's Donuts, ice cream, or even a nice dinner at the Arms Reach Bistro. You can also rent kayaks here!

No first trip to Vancouver is complete without checking out Stanley Park. You can get there by car across the bridge or on the seabus and then walking or catching a bus the rest of the way. Once there, bike/walk/or even rollerblade around the Seawall and underneath the Stanley Park Bridge, or take a horse drawn carriage ride.

My fav place to go nearby, nice food or just drinks, amazing views of the water, short walk away, and a great vibe. The place is always packed so grab a reservation if you can. The Shipyards is a great place to walk around so don't be intimidated by a half hour wait, enjoy the views till then. The blackened chicken will not disappoint.

This is the original Cactus Club! Not as modern a vibe as the usual Cactus Clubs if you are familiar with the chain, as they have kept this one original. A little fancier location is at the Park Royal Village, but I'm partial to the original one on Pemberton, about a 5 min drive away.
