Open fall-spring on weekends until 4:00pm, closed during turtle nesting season. This is where the huge leatherback turtles return each year to lay their eggs.
There aren't places to eat or other amenities in the immediate vacinity, so bring a picnic, towel, and plenty of water and sunblock.

Open fall-spring on weekends until 4:00pm, closed during turtle nesting season. This is where the huge leatherback turtles return each year to lay their eggs.
There aren't places to eat or other amenities in the immediate vacinity, so bring a picnic, towel, and plenty of water and sunblock.
You can walk here from the house, about five miles round trip. Take a water bottle and do it on the early side before it heats up, or drive there and watch the sun set and stay for some stargazing. This is the easternmost point in the US. There's a giant sundial and gorgeous views and breezes.

Hay Penny Beach
A great South Shore beach. Watch the sun set here, or take a beautiful beach walk.
A 10 minute walk or two minute drive from the house (with limited parking). This is a small, quiet beach and a nice place to go for a swim or to lay in the sand. Great views of Buck Island, decent snorkeling on a calm day. Sometimes we walk down to this beach after dinner and do a bit of stargazing.

This is St. Croix's second highest peak. You can hike it in ca. two hours door to door from the house, or drive to Cramer Park and park near the satellite dish and then walk up an access road. It's a great place to watch the sun rise or set. Wear sensible footwear and take some water. Cool breezes await you at the summit.
