Food scene
A great place to sit on a beautiful outdoor patio, enjoy the waterviews, watch the boats and occasionally see a submarine. Very nice food - especially seafood. There's a raw bar and a full menu that goes from Lobster Tacos to NY Strip and everything in between. I am especially fond of their Seafood Lasagna.

I am a huge fan of Tony D's. The food is basically Italian with a much more creative and interesting menu than your run-of-the-mill ristorante. There's a raw bar and a daily specials menu. Wonderful bread and tapenade. Great salads. And a varied group of entrees, my favorite being Chianti-Braised Short Ribs. Seafood is always excellent. And Pete the Bartender makes a fabulous Martini. Sit in the bar or at the bar.

92 Huntington StI am a huge fan of Tony D's. The food is basically Italian with a much more creative and interesting menu than your run-of-the-mill ristorante. There's a raw bar and a daily specials menu. Wonderful bread and tapenade. Great salads. And a varied group of entrees, my favorite being Chianti-Braised Short Ribs. Seafood is always excellent. And Pete the Bartender makes a fabulous Martini. Sit in the bar or at the bar.
If you are looking for a gastro-pub with a deck overlooking the water, you have to go to Hot Rods. An interesting menu. A great selection of beer and that beautiful deck overlooking the Thames River. Great, great, great wings. And a very creative chef who always has something surprising on the menu.

114 Bank StIf you are looking for a gastro-pub with a deck overlooking the water, you have to go to Hot Rods. An interesting menu. A great selection of beer and that beautiful deck overlooking the Thames River. Great, great, great wings. And a very creative chef who always has something surprising on the menu.
City Dock is a new addition to the lively New London downtown. It is set on the Custom's House pier which is part of the New London Waterfront Park. It consists of two repurposed shipping containers - one for the food side and one for a bar. There's a great striped tent and a slew of colorful picnic table and chairs encircled by gigantic palm trees. It's an idyllic setting just beside the city mooring field with bigger boats tied up at the pier. There's a raw bar, Stuffies (stuffed clams) and the usual array of pub food. And they serve Martinis in the most handsome plastic stemmed glasses. I will go again just for those glasses. The staff is very nice and attentive. It's a very nice addition to our waterfront and I hope City Dock is around for a very long time.
