Made locally in Hereford! Chase are famous for their homemade field to bottle Gin, Vodka and Tyrrell's crisps. I highly recommend a tour if you are in the area. They are on the pricey side but you get a large gift card to offset the cost of a spirit (of your selection) from the store. It is definitely worth it! Perfect for couples, hen parties, a stag do or those simply interested. Hereford Cider Museum Trust is an Independent Charitable Trust and was founded in 1973 to preserve the history of cider making worldwide. The extensive collection includes cider mills, presses, bottles, old photographs, watercolours, advertising memorabilia and a rare collection of English lead crystal cider flutes. It is housed in the original 1888 Bulmer's factory, and it tells the story of cidermaking across Britain, although local social history of course features very strongly. The museum continues to collect artefacts associated with the history of cider making and has achieved Accreditation status (awarded by the Arts Council, England) for its standards of care applied to the collection. Visiting: The museum is open to visitors: 10:30am – 4:30pm Monday - Saturday.

Bordered by the River Wye, The Weir sits within unspoilt Herefordshire countryside and has many historical secrets to uncover. For centuries this site has been used as a pleasure ground for fishing, boating and swimming. It is managed in a natural way to create a varied habitat for wildlife. In spring see carpets of bulbs littered between ancient trees, in summer enjoy a picnic by the river to watch the wildlife and in autumn visit the walled garden bursting with seasonal produce. Visit the garden any time of year to find out why this location has appealed to so many and enjoy exploring this tranquil haven. Please note: only assistance dogs are allowed in the gardens, all other dogs can be exercised in the car park picnic area. The Riverside Garden: From spring blooms to autumn leaves, the riverside garden is outstandingly beautiful whatever the season. Spring Garden at the Weir: Discover what spring brings to The Weir Garden from late-blooming daffodils to wild garlic in the woodlands. Refresh your senses with a wander at The Weir soon. Spring Wildlife at the Weir: Why come for a walk alongside the river and see what nature comes to you this Spring at The Weir Garden? From waterfowl to butterflies, nature finds the naturally planted garden quite irresistible.

Visitors can see the UK’s widest range of working pumps and engines from across Herefordshire, neighbouring counties and Wales, most of which are the last working examples of their type. Heritage engineering at its best – and wholly run by volunteers. The museum is one of Herefordshire’s leading visitor attractions with something for all ages. Children enjoy using hands on exhibits, including in the unique Heritage Water Park, and the museum has a permanent exhibition to Hereford in WW2. Every exhibit is waiting to tell a story.

The Brecon Beacons are a mountain range in South Wales. In a narrow sense, the name refers to the range of Old Red Sandstone peaks which lie to the south of Brecon. Sometimes referred to as "the central Beacons" they include South Wales' highest mountain, Pen y Fan. I highly recommend Pen y Fan if you are new or experienced to walking. Perfect for a couples or family day out, just check the weather before you travel as it a 1hr 10 min drive from the house. It can get very busy in the summer so I recommend you arrive early to find a parking space. Bring plenty of supplies with you as there is no shop at the bottom of the Pen Y Fan!
