Fort Payne is a small town (10 minute drive) at the foot of the mountain from Rainsville at the foot of Lookout Mountain. It is known as the home of the popular country rock band Alabama, where you can find the band's fan club and museum. It has many great restaurants and shopping galore!

Scottsboro is a 15-minute drive down the mountain from Rainsville heading toward Jackson County. It is the home of the famous Unclaimed Baggage Store and other great consignment shops. It is also a great place to see the Tennessee River up close and personal!
