La Tour d'Argent, 19 Quai de la Tournelle, 75005 Paris A centuries-old mecca of French gourmet cuisine, located on the quayside and renowned for its blood duck. Founded in 1582, this elegant inn on the banks of the Seine became a restaurant in 1780. It was at the beginning of the 20th century that André Terrail bought it, with a brilliant idea: to raise the building by one floor to install the dining room, and thus enjoy a unique panorama, one of the most beautiful views of the Seine and Notre-Dame-de-Paris! As for the rest, the soul of the Tour d'Argent evolves with the times: a veritable palimpsest, the menu, reinterpreted by Yannick Franques, MOF 2004, preserves the memory of several decades of French haute cuisine. Thus the matured "Frédéric Delair" duckling, served as a whole, is highlighted in two courses. Purists can rest assured that the service, perfectly regulated, always ensures a good show. As for the extraordinary cellar, it is said to contain... nearly 300,000 bottles.
