There are no Ubers. The Taxi system does not always work. I have information for a driver with reasonable rates. just ask me and I'll send his card!

It is an old West Indies custom to always say Good Morning, Good Evening or Goodnight when you enter a room or start a conversation. It is offensive not to say it, or respond in kind when it is said to you.

Most restaurants here require reservations in advance. They book out quickly so plan ahead!

Please do not walk at night alone. If you are planning to travel on foot to get to the boardwalk please shoot me a message and I will send you a map of the safest route.

Public transit is not very reliable, if you are limited in time it is not ideal. The Vitran Public Bus System services various areas of the island. Air-conditioned buses run between Christiansted and Frederiksted about every 2 hours daily from 5:30 am and 9pm. No service on Sundays. They start at Tide Village, to Christiansted and travel along Route 75 to Golden Rock shopping center. They then make their way to Route 70 with stops at Sunny Isle Shopping Center, La Reine Shopping Center, St. George’s Botanical Gardens and Whim Plantation before getting to Frederiksted.

The reason I cannot do late check in/out is because someone else will need to check in a few hours after you leave. During the time between we wash, scrub, clean, fix, patch, replace and take inventory. The schedules are set so that we can promise each guest check-in by 3pm, as the standard. We often don't know how a condo will be left and cannot expect each guest to be great, although most are. We stick to the schedule because people create interesting stories in our places every day, our job is to make sure that by the time you arrive, the canvas is blank... so you can write your own.

You will likely need cash during your stay. Lots of places on island only take cash (and do not warn you in advance.) Be sure to ask if the vendor takes cards, before you order and always have some petty cash on hand.

Some guests have asked for multiple keys but this gets difficult to keep track of while traveling. When a key is lost we must rekey the door (at the guest's expense) and it's a bad deal for everyone. My recommendation for people traveling together doing separate activities is to put the key back in the lockbox. That way even if you arrive back at separate times you can still get into the condo using the same code you used to check in.
