Because is quite simply the best to enjoy the sunset or dinner. The location, the vibe, the service, the art, the decor, everything about it is high end. Is on the pricier side of the spectrum but is worth it and its certainly affordable. lots of vegetation inside which the sloths LOVE so there's always a few hanging around. Is my go-to in puerto viejo at night.

Parks & Nature
Specially best if you have kids. They have showers to take off the sand and 'private' huts with bbq grill just take charcoal and your food, beach is shallow and not very rough, you can drive all the way to the end and then the walk to the point is significantly less (from 7km to just 2km). Bring plenty of water and food, once you find a spot you probably won't move until you're ready to go home.

Puerto Vargas
Specially best if you have kids. I prefer the southern side rather than the punta uva proper part (go past the mini supermarket, pass the bridge take next left, all the way to the end then right and follow that path right next to the ocean. Plenty of parking not so busy, voted on tripadvisor 2018 as the 24th most beautiful beach in the world :) - you will love it) do arrive before 10am to ensure a spot specially busy sundays. It will take you a good 25min from the house to here.

Punta Uva
36I prefer the southern side rather than the punta uva proper part (go past the mini supermarket, pass the bridge take next left, all the way to the end then right and follow that path right next to the ocean. Plenty of parking not so busy, voted on tripadvisor 2018 as the 24th most beautiful beach in the world :) - you will love it) do arrive before 10am to ensure a spot specially busy sundays. It will take you a good 25min from the house to here.
Playa Blanca is the picture-perfect postcard beach you expect to see in costa rica... PERIOD.
Do follow the instructions of the park and mind the red flags, some areas have crazy strong riptides BE CAREFUL and follow guidelines and don't feed the wildlife... walk the trail to the tip if you're in good shape you will love it.
