Sightseeing

Saltwater State Park is the only park in Washington that has an underwater, artificial reef on Puget Sound. On the way to Tacoma, it's a great place to relax and take in the beauty of the Puget Sound. Great photography opportunities. Suitable for kids. A paved parking lot and the trails are not difficult.

Food scene

The Pacific Northwest is not known for good Mexican food; however, this place really delivers. It's family-owned and they serve homemade tortillas. One of the only Mexican restaurants I recommend and less than a five-minute walk from my house.

The Puget Sound is the only place you can get Dick's Drive-In. Since Dick Spady opened the first one in 1954 it has been a popular hang-out for locals, especially teens. And was memorialized in rap culture history when Sir Mix A Lot mentioned the restaurant in his song "Posse on Broadway." A local favorite that always delivers a good burger at a good price, the best greasiest, hand-cut fries and shakes. It stays open late and is just a five-minute drive from my house.
