Welcome to downtown Bloomington! Just outside of campus, you will find the main restaurant and shopping scene. Walk down the cobblestone and brick sidewalks, while searching for your IU apparel or grabbing a local bite to eat. If you are looking for a variety of international restaurants - Fourth Street is your best bet! After your adventure down Kirkwood and the neighboring streets, make your way to Sample Gates to explore one of the most beautiful college campuses in the nation.

Runcible is a Bloomington staple! Go for their brunch or settle in for a cozy dinner. Located on 6th st near Kirkwood ave, you can explore the downtown area as well. Try my personal favorite: a smoked salmon hash, it is delicious!

Sightseeing
Looking for an active hike or boat ride? Lake Monroe has you covered. There are free trails nearby and places to dock a canoe or kayak. If you would like access to Fairfax beach and the amenities there is typically a $7 fee per vehicle! One of my favorite places to see is Amy Weingartner Branigin Peninsula Preserve, a short 1-mile hike along the lake.
