Food scene

Breakfast/lunch/dinner--Sahm’s Place is one of our favorite local eateries and its 3 blocks away at 65th and Keystone. Locally owned and they make their own everything. Atmosphere is just “meh,” but try the steak sandwich, meatloaf sandwich, or really anything. Sahm’s is also great for casual dinner at 65th and Keystone, or Sahm’s Big Lug at 86th and Westfield has an awesome patio. Also Sahm’s Half Liter at 54th and Winthrop has great BBQ and a huge outdoor area.

Lunch/dinner--Flatwater on the canal in the village has become a favorite. The food is very good, but it does get packed when they have live music at night. They have a great patio overlooking the canal.

Lunch/dinner--For a classy Italian meal go to Capri at 73rd and Keystone. It's pricey but excellent food, and a cool paneled, white table cloth vibe, with Sinatra music playing a large fireplace in the lounge.

Lunch/dinner--Mexican, Luciana’s* is decent and has a nice outdoor area. If you are feeling adventurous, you can walk to Luciana’s (Mexican) through the park in about 10 mins. Here’s how: As you come out of the front door of our place walk to the left and take the gravel path across the bridge. Once over the bridge, cut through the playing fields to your right in the park and pick up the gravel path on the other side. Go left on the path and follow it around past the woods on your left until you see a small gate in the fence, about 30 feet from the path. Go through that gate, walk up the street and Luciana’s will be on your left at the main road (Broad Ripple Ave.)

Lunch/dinner--For pizza, you want to go to Bazbeaux in Broad Ripple Village. Possibly the best pizza on the planet. Our favorite is the Genova (so good you’ll forget it’s vegetarian
