Food is local, fresh, simple but impossibly delicious.. The clientele is an easy mix of locals and tourists, servers speak good English and they are kind and helpful in explaining choices. Reasonable but interesting and excellent wines; house wine is good as well. Try onion stuffed with Pecorino cheese, wild boar ragout or Pici pasta with Parmesan and black pepper.

A family run trattoria, real florentines, super local (they also live in Santo Spirito neighborhood!) A plus is local residents on the next table regularly drinking and eatig at Crudo, which means a lot..

Parks & Nature

Huge park on the north bank of the Arno river at 15' walking distance from my apartment. Fantastic place to stroll or jogging. The park covers an area of 160 hectares (395 acres). The building of the Park began in 1563, under the rule of Cosimo I de' Medici, as a farming and hunting estate of the Medici family, ruling the city of Florence since 1434. The very name of the Park derives from the ancient Italian word "cascio", meaning bovine livestock, mainly intended for the production of butter and cheese.

With an area of 45,000 square metres (11 acres) at 200 mts from Ponte Vecchio is more than a garden, more than just a “green lung” in Florence, the Boboli gardens are one of the greatest open-air museums in Florence. The park hosts centuries-old oak trees, sculptures, fountains and offers peaceful shelter from the warm Florentine sun in summer, the beautiful colors of the changing foliage in the fall and smells of blooming flowers in the spring. The Boboli gardens are a spectacular example of "green architecture"

The magical silence and stunning architecture in the Bardini Gardens seem to get lost in the crowd of places to visit while in Florence. Each time you move up to a new level, surprising views opened up over Florence. In an hour you can stroll the entire garden easily and calmly, and that is what this garden deserves: time for a short stroll that will sooth your soul. The Giardino Bardini is an Italian Renaissance garden in Florence, Italy. Opened only recently to the public, it is relatively little-known.

A true gem. The ladies who run the shop are really kind, helpful, passionate and knowledgeable about what they sell This shop is perfect if you're looking to treat yourself to some special tea (of which there is a great selection) and indulge in some rich chocolate.

Castorina's philosophy has always been the same from 1895: A passion for wood. A world of wonders, a magical place where objects are still made by hand and you can still smell the odor of wood. Frames, furniture and accessories for designers, architects and anyone who wants to make their home elegant and unique.

Essentials

I suggest The Conad "Sapori & Dintorni" line, a wide selection of products made with local raw materials and traditional methods of processing and preparation. Typical regional products selected for their particularity in flavor and a strong identity in the local tradition.

Open since 1981 and described as a "family" club which is all about the regulars and the DJs who play there say they feel like they have been invited into a very special family. This place has seen gigs by everyone ranging from 80s new wave bands to world famous DJs, but it is ‘Nobody’s Perfect’ party that has made Tenax one of Europe’s legendary club names. Those Saturday night parties have played host to practically every top DJ worth his salt over the last 20 years and currently marks one of the main stopping off points for the minimal bandwagon.
