St. Genevieve serves truly unique cocktails in a trendy environment. The food is also fantastic (delicious flatbread pizzas and unique appetizers, tabletop s'mores)! I thought a friend of mine was crazy for ordering brussels sprouts one night, and they turned out to be one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten! Yes, I would go there just for the brussels sprouts (I know, now I sound like the crazy one, but they are soooo good!)! Also, try the mushroom flatbread (it comes with truffle oil and an egg on top) and their very light and delicious calamari, dusted with chickpea flour. (some of the best I've had!) The kitchen closes at ten though, so get their a bit earlier!

In addition to having thousands of healthy eating options and fresh organic produce, this giant Whole foods has an oyster bar with hundreds of beers (and homemade rootbeer) on tap, where they will cook to order any meat, seafood, or veggies you select from the store. I love their garlic parmesan oysters, and there are empty glass racks throughout the store so you can enjoy your beverage while you shop. Also, check out their selection of wines, cheeses, and their beautifully tempting bakery breads and desserts that are works of art.

In addition to delicious sushi rolls and appetizers (try the lobster purses!), they hand make their noodles while you watch, banging them on the counter and stretching them out. Great noodle soup and chili potatoes!

One of my very favorite places in Austin. I could eat their food every day, and they have vegetarian/vegan/gluten free options! Their Vietnamese crepe is fantastic and served with a plate piled with fresh herbs. Their shaken beef is only one of maybe four beef dishes I have ever enjoyed (and it's addictive!). Ironically, despite the name, there are better places to get pho in Austin, but try their lemongrass tofu. You will not even miss the meat! It is a nice, quiet atmosphere (especially if you sit on the lower level), and while the service is not overly friendly at times, its a great place for a quiet getaway meal over some amazing food.

The Balkan Cafe is wonderful place to get delicious comfort food in a cozy, friendly environment. Never had balkan food before? You are in for a treat! Try the Cevapi , the sudzukice, or try them both on the fantastic mixed grill plate. It's where I go on those rainy days where I need some delicious warm food to fill my tummy. Be sure to shake the hand of "Z," the owner. You will come away with a smile on your face and a sense of comfort.

Right up the road from me (on the same creek the house backs up to) is Walnut Creek park. It has beautiful trails that go along the creek with cliffs all around that would make you forget you are in the city. It's where I go to get my nature fix! The park also has a playground, pool, and sports fields.

The domain is an oudoor shopping mall with great stores, restaurants, and nightlife. Rock Rose street, part of the Domain, has been named "the sixth street of North Austin." One of the most desirable destinations in Austin and just minutes from the house.
