One of Portland's Dining and Shopping Hotspots - SE Division Street
SE Division Street from about 20th to 50th is a celebrated restaurant row with Award-winning restaurants (Ava Gean's), ice cream (Salt 'n' Straw), coffee (Stumphouse Coffee), pies/cakes/breakfast (Loretta Jean's), bakery (Little T's) and tap and bottled beer and wine/covered food cart pod (John's Marketplace). All these and a lot more are a short, tree-lined walk away. Our house is just south (3 blocks) of the intersection of 39th (Ceasar Chavez) and SE Division. SE Hawthorne and SE Belmont and SE Clinton are also nearby with great options. Look for reservations for the better spots. Varied shops of new and used clothes, books, gifts, jewelry, etc are all around as well. One of the 2 best Portland Parks (Mt Tabor) is an interesting 30-minute flat walk away to the east. About 3 miles west of our house lies the Willamette River/Park, and the eastern edge of downtown Portland proper, with many restaurants and stores too of course.
