Less than a stone's throw from my apartment - this restaurant is underneath (yes....) a beautiful church. The food is first class Scottish Fare. The bar area is nice and quiet, and there is a lovely little beer garden which few locals seem to know about.

A cosy little Scottish restaurant and bar. The food has a lovely homemade sense to it. Try the stovies (a classic Scottish dish) if you need something heartwarming or give their chowder a go if you are feeling like something a bit more exotic. You can randomly catch some live Scottish music in here too. There's also a nice little beer garden area for sunny days.

Try the stovies (a classic Scottish dish) if you need something heartwarming or give their chowder a go if you are feeling like something a bit more exotic. You can randomly catch some live Scottish music in here too. There's also a nice little beer garden area for sunny days.

A cool bar throughout the day and night. Tends to get busy at weekends but it's generally quite relaxed throughout the week. There's a good selection of drinks on offer but the food is excellent too.

There's a great little terrace out the back which is heated and a beer garden below. Can get busy from Thursday night through the weekend, but quiet during the day. Food is excellent too.
Probably my favourite bar in Glasgow. Split over three levels it also has a couple of restaurant areas. The highlight is the roof terrace - a lesser known secret even to locals. Open every night until 1am.

237 North StGlasgow's hippest nightclub. Hidden in the basement of an old Pawn Shop (it still retains the original exterior), this is a club with both atmosphere and some great regular nights. Worth visiting purely for the small and quirky bar on the top floor. Usually open on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday night, but there are occasional events on Sundays.

The Tollbooth Steeple is a particularly odd structure just 100m from the apartment front door. Standing proudly by itself in the middle of the cross, this structure once made up the gable end of a large building which was partly destroyed by fire. It looks like it should fall over at any minute but it weathers even the worst of storms. There's a little history panel about it on the wall of the Tollbooth Bar at the bottom of London Road.

Huge park just south of the apartment. Great for a walk or run, and for traffic free bike rides. Venture far enough and you will find our very own West Brewery with plenty of German beers on offer and a lovely sun drenched (weather permitting) beer garden.
