Another great restaurant in Avon that has a fantastic bar scene and great food. They have a large screened in area for eating semi-outside in warmer weather. Right next to the Avon Pier, which you can access for free with your receipt from the restaurant. Well worth the stroll to see the ocean after you've dined!

Great park you can walk to from the house. If you're ambitious, you can pick up the trail that leads to the to the Hatteras Lighthouse! The entrance to the trail is at the back of the campground. The walking distance from the entrance of the campground to the WWII Memorial is 5.5 miles in total (11 miles round-trip). You can always walk just a portion, but bring bug-spray with you in the summertime.

Take the car ferry for free or the passenger ferry for $1 from Hatteras Village over to Ocracoke Island where you can see the ponies, sit on miles of wonderful sandy beaches, or get a bite to eat at the South end of the Island. A great place to bring your bikes.
