Chharabra is a small village situated on top of mountains and it is approximately 8250 feet (2514m) from above sea level. It is on National highway 22-Hindustan-Tibet Road and it is 08 Km away from Star View Cottage Mashobra. There is summer retreat of President of India and also summer residence of Governor of Punjab. The village is surrounded by evergreen pine forests and has magnificent view of the Himalayas.
Kufri is a famous tourists spot only 12 km. from our cottage it has an added attraction of Mini zoo amidst dense forest to the tourists where a rare breed of wild animals including 'Monal' the State bird of Himachal Pradesh. The other attractions of this zoo are Tibetan wolf, Brown Bear and Barking Deer. There are other popular wild animals such as leopard, Ghoral, Samber, Himalayan Yak, black bear and many others varieties. Himalayan Nature Park has been set up at Kufri in 1992. It has also Potato Research Centre and food Craft Institute.
