Craigiehall Temple (historic property built 1759)

Make your trip to Edinburgh truly memorable with a stay at Craigiehall Temple. Built in 1759 and situated in its own grounds on a former part of the Craigiehall Estate, its Grade A listed for its stunning portico displaying the arms of the 1st Marquess of Annandale. A plaque on the wall carries a quote from Horace: "Dum Iicet in rebus jucundis vive beatus", "Live happy while you can among joyful things". Set on the banks of Loch Patrick in SW Scotland, our shepherds hut sleeps two, has a wood burning stove and beautiful views. Get away from it all in this cosy semi off-grid cabin with a touch of luxury. This secluded cabin is a hidden gem off the beaten track just outside the town of Moffat. So if private walks, nature viewing hide, dark skies, plunge pools for a dip and cosy log fires are for you, then you'll love it! Children and dogs are welcome too. The farm has old woodland glens with our very own gorge, ponds which attract a variety of birds and open hill land with a cairn overlooking the town of Moffat.

Our chalet is in our large, well managed garden. While it is near our house and we are happy to chat, we always respect peoples privacy. This is a very peaceful place where you can sit outside and watch the flames of the fire pit at night or stay in and have a cosy evening. Our neighbours are all of the four legged variety so some countryside noises are to be expected but the cows love to come and greet you at the wall. Parking space in garden
